Migrant Children: new website

Lausanne/Sion/Geneva/Bern, 23 January 2017 – The Alliance for the Rights of Migrant Children (ADEM) is launching its website! Their platform, www.enfants-migrants.ch offers information and resources for migrant children in Switzerland, as well as the professionals who work with them.

Founded in 2013 by the International Social Service, the page enfants-migrants.ch has been fully redesigned by partners of the Alliance for the Rights of Migrant Children, in order for it to become their official website.

Apart from reports and positions of the ADEM, the website provides information on current affairs tied to refugee children in Switzerland, particularly unaccompanied minors. An entire section is dedicated to them, with a step-by-step, easy to understand guide detailing the road to asylum. It also provides explanations of their rights, obligations and the places where they can find advice and support.

Professionals who chaperone or are exposed to migrant children will also find a wealth of documentations, examples of best practices and other useful contacts. The website will be updated regularly with new resources, including upcoming mappings of the different players and services that handle unaccompanied minors in each canton.

The ADEM, a network of organisations and professionals that defend the rights and interests of migrant children in Switzerland, was founded by the Swiss Foundation of the International Social Service (ISS), the International Institute for the Rights of the Child (IDE) and Terre des Hommes – Helping Children Worldwide in 2006. The ADEM has continued to gain strength since it was joined by the Swiss Refugee Council in 2016. Partners of the Alliance provide content for enfants-migrants.ch together.
